New wardrobe

So for all my readers - I have some amazing news! I finally have a placement and I am moving to London in the next couple weeks! I couldn't be more excited. My placement is at Debenhams head office (which is just behind Oxford street) and I will be assisting the digital and online marketing team with the online blog, the magazine and many other things! I am so excited and cannot wait to start in a few weeks.

I'm currently looking for somewhere to live and choosing new clothes to wear for placement. I love that getting a placement automatically means that I can buy new clothes! (That's how I am justifying it anyway).

There are a few pieces which I am dying to buy - ready for my move to the capital!

River Island

As some of you may know, my course is a four year course which has three years of studying and one year in industry. Most people have obtained placements in head offices throughout the country, however, I have decided to defer a year and do work experience and work at River Island for the year.

I am back at home now, working in my local River Island and I absolutely love working there. I've been a loyal customer of River Island for nearly 10 years, so to work in the store alongside fast fashion, unique products is just amazing. I would love to work for River Island after graduation, so working in the store will hopefully work in my advantage!

I just wanted to do a quick post about my favourite products in the store at the moment (and there are many many of them!).

Love jumper, £30.

Red cami, £10.

Lime green trousers, £30.

Tribal trousers, £20.

Wedges, £50.

Pink Moccasins, £25.

Red ponyskin handbag, £30.

Grey suede shopper, £30.

White studded suitcase, £70.

Black t-shirt dress, £18.

And ofcourse because I am an employee, I will be getting my 30% discount soon! I cannot wait! I am going to go crazy when I get it!

Ted baker cosmetics bag

So now that I am finally home for summer I decided to go shopping in Liverpool yesterday. My favourite thing I bought was this Ted Baker cosmetics case from John Lewis. Its retail price is £25 however because my mum works for Waitrose I get a discount card which means I get 25% off. This meant that I got the bag for just over £18. A key trends the spring summer 14 is colourful animal prints. This has already started to come through on the high-street this season however they'll be much more on the high-street next season. (This is what WGSN has predicted).

Chloe Green for Topshop

Chloe Green, daughter of Sir Phillip Green has created another range of her shoes! Like Louboutins having a red sole, her shoes have a green sole to represent her brand. Although they are more expensive than Topshop shoes, they are really unique and very different to other heels on the high street. Her shoes go up to £175, but there are cheaper options which are about £115.

£175

£115

If you want to see more of her shoes, you can browse the collection on the Topshop website.

Palm Springs

Topshop has created a variety of collections within their SS range. One of their looks is called Palm Springs. It is filled with bright coloured pieces and accessories. This pink top is £35 but the colour is perfect for the hotter days and the detailing around the neckline means that you don't need to worry about what jewellery to put on! There are so many pieces that I love in the Palms spring collection.

Wardrobe Essential

Every month as you know, I do a wardrobe essential. My wardrobe essential for this month is a cami from Topshop that I bought yesterday. I went into the shop on Wednesday and saw it, and I thought - I NEED to try that on.  So I tried it on and loved it. There were so many things I liked, including a leather dress, printed trousers and a pink trophy jacket. On a student budget though, I can't have it all! But the cami was something completely different and something that I wouldn't usually buy as I wear a lot of black and white.

I wasn't sure whether I should buy it or think about it, so I went home and thought about it. For the whole night and the next morning I just couldn't get it out of my head, so me being me, ran to Topshop and had to get it! Luckily they still had my size and I got it!

Cami, £26

The cami is such a bright colour that it will be perfect for the summer months.

I finally bought it!

Summer knitwear

The hardest thing about getting dressed - is taking into account the weather! In most countries at this time of year, the sun is out. People can wear sandals and shorts, however in England the weather is completely unsure of what to do! It goes from hot and sunny, to freezing cold and windy the next day! It is a complete guess what to wear, until you get outdoors and then you regret not taking your jacket out with you!

This jumper is £38 from Topshop, and is the same as a black one I already have from there. It seems a bit thinner and more appropriate for Summer, however with our summers, we will probably be able to wear knitwear all year round at this rate!

I love Summer knitwear. I recently bought a jumper from H&M. It is a creamy colour with black crosses on it. It is thin enough that I can wear it in the Summer, but thick enough that with a jacket will keep me warm in the winter.

Box Clutches

by Zara

These three neon box clutches are by Zara, £19.99 each. These colours are three of the key colours for this season and are really on trend for SS13. At under £20, they are really affordable. The only down side about these bags is how small they are. They are about the size of an average purse, so they will fit your bare essentials in: phone, keys, money - but that will be all. Therefore, if you are considering buying one of these bags for an everyday bag, I wouldn't recommend it - however they would be perfect for a night out.

River Islands' 20% off

So today was the first day of River Islands' 20% off day! I woke up and just had to get down there. Considering it was 20% off for students, the shops didn't seem to be very busy, but maybe we were just there too early for students! Anyway, there was so many thing I liked but living on a budget, I said to myself - you can only buy one! So it was between a lime green shirt or this clutch bag.

I first saw this clutch bag when I was in Derby Westfield shopping last week, and I thought it was amazing! It is so unique, mixing the gold and the silver studs together, and it can be used for a night out or a casual summer day. I also bought this top from H&M. I have been looking at it for ages, but they had never had my size, so when I saw it today I just had to get it.

The River Island clutch was £30 (£24 with 20% off). The H&M top was £7.99.

Lime green

Lime green is colour that has hit the high street this season in every form. From accessories, shirts and shoes, to tees, underwear and interiors. It truly is the colour of the season. If you read my blog you know how much I love my oversized shirts, and I have finally found a lime green shirt after searching for so long! It is only £25 from River Island, however, with 20% off for the next few days, if I can get it soon it will be £20!

River Island, £25

River Island has used a lot of lime green within their current range.

River Island, £22.

Heeled sandals

At the moment I am really into heeled sandals. I recently bought two pairs from Zara, and last summer I invested in a pair from Topshop. There are so many pairs out there on the high street at the moment its hard to know where to begin! Topshop & Zara are my favourite place for heels so I've chosen my favourite pairs from each retailer.

For more styles and colours, look on the Topshop & Zara websites.

Westfield Derby

Its been a long, long day shopping and boy are my feet paying for it! Me and my flatmate Sophie woke up and decided to spend our day shopping, which is nothing new- (we seem to end up shopping every time we have a few spare hours). We were bored of Nottingham and thought we would get on a train and go to Westfield Derby. I have only been to the London Stratford Westfield, so the Derby one seemed tiny compared to that but I actually managed to find some really good things!

So this is the first thing I bought today... a complete impulse buy!
This is my new t-shirt which was an absolute steal at only £6.99. It is the perfect length to wear with jeans or leggings. I am a size 12 and I got a Medium, so they are true to size.
I would say these are the sort of sizes to go by - XS = 6,   S=8,   M=10-12,  L=14

This is the label on the t-shirt is the label that is on their new collection 'The New Icons' which is representing the models; Daphne Groeneveld, Lindsey Wixson, Lui Wen & Joan Smalls.

Another campaign that H&M has going on at the moment is their 'AS SEEN IN VOGUE'.

There was a section at the front that had a few selected pieces that had these tickets on.
I bought a white jacket/blazer that was £29.99. It is absolutely gorgeous and is fitted really well, and is really flattering.

This blazer looked really nice with black and silver, but as it is an off white it will go with everything!

I also bought some little bits and bobs from Bodycare, some Zara perfume and a tin for my receipts.

H&M, £6.99

Receipt tin (can buy these in many stores across the UK), £6.

Eau de Toilette, 92 Champs Elysees Paris,
from Zara, £9.99 for 50ml
