Motel Rocks

The other night I was just flicking through my twitter feed and I came across '50% off MotelRocks for 50 minutes!' and that was it. I quickly logged on to motel and ordered a playsuit I have wanted for over a year now and I am so glad I did.

When I first got onto the motel website (the offer had already been on for 39 minutes, only 11 minutes left) it was completely frozen and they were having difficulty. I just thought 'noooooooooo' along with probably hundreds of other girls! So I wrote to MotelRocks on facebook saying the site was down and to extend it. So anyway, after a stressful 11 minutes, I managed to log on, order the playsuit and enter all my credit card details in and clicked 'confirm' on the 50th minute!

The playsuit that caused so much drama was the Jessica playsuit. It was originally £52 but with the offer it was reduced to £26 and I chose the free delivery option. It says it will be delivered in 7-10 days, however I got my playsuit two days later!

I have just tried it on and I absolutely love it! I am going to save it for going out at Uni as I'm going back in a week! Can't wait to wear it!

Rollers

So I've had a problem for a while. I cannot find rollers that keep my hair curly all day long. I have tried heated curlers, left them in for hours, take them out to find I have gorgeous curly hair. Half an hour later, my hair is straight again. My hair used to be naturally curly, but due to how much heat I have applied to it over the years, it seems to be pretty much straight when I dry it.

I am debating buying the 'Scouse Boutique' sleep in rollers, but I have read on other blogs that they aren't comfy and can disturb your sleep. The pictures below are of two different styles I wish lasted all day. As you can see I have very long, thick hair (just past my waist) which I think is the main reason heated rollers just don't work. Also, I spend hours back combing my hair, but because of the weight of my hair it falls flat immediately! The image of the left is my hair with heated rollers and the image on the right is my hair when I have curled it with straighteners.

If anyone knows any heated or sleep in rollers which will make long thick hair curly for longer than half an hour please comment and let me know!

20% off River Island

If you haven't already picked up your copy of Company magazine (October issue) then go and buy it now! It is filled with so much amazing content, but also a 20% off River Island voucher! River Island don't offer student discount, whereas most high street stores do, so this is an offer you cannot miss out on.

I plan on buying a faux fur tote, a black blazer with PU sleeves, an embellished peplum top and a studded jumper.

What are you're favourite pieces from River Island at the moment?

Trends in shape

Trends not only change in the clothes you wear but the body you wear them on. The trend of 'superskinny' was a huge thing for the past few years, however celebrities such as Kim Kardashian have generated the idea of a healthy body image. Women are now wanting a curvier shape and are accentuating their figure through the curves you wear.

The desired body shape used to be the 'boyish' shape however, now many women want an 'hourglass'. Another trend which we can see on the catwalks and in high street stores is power-shoulders. In the 1980's, shoulder pads were the 'big thing', and they have no returned in blazers, dresses and shirts. Maximising your shoulders can make your waist look slimmer and balance out your hips.

This dress from Zara shows how the high street are interpreting the trend.

If you read this and have an opinion on 'superskinny', please comment and tell me what you think. I need some opinions for my University project!

Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson, from the OC to designing shoes. Almost every other celebrity has created their own shoe collection, and now Rachel Bilson has too, why not? They will be sold on stylistpick.com so that they will be available to a UK market. It is the same website that Cheryl Cole collaborated with to create her debut shoe collection.
Bilson is known for her effortless style and always wearing the latest collections from designers such as Phillip Lim. She has designed a stunning collection 'Shoemint', which goes from the essential basic flats to skyscraper heels.
These are three of the styles Bilson has designed - Jolly, Pauline & Edith.
If you're the kind of person that isn't really into fashion and spending over £20 on a pair of heels seems crazy then this probably isn't the collection for you. The shoes are approximately £50, which I think is very reasonable considering high street shops like Topshop and Zara charge about £70-80 for a pair of heels.
Overall, I think this collection will sell well in Britain due to the amazing colours, fashionable style and the cheaper price.

I personally love Rachel Bilsons collection, however, my favourite collaboration with stylist pick was Louise Roe. Comment and let me know what you think

Perfume..

Although this is a fashion blog, I believe that there are many other factors which are important to the Fashion Industry. Even make up and hairstyle have their own trends, however I am here to tell you about my favourite perfume of all time!

Perfume is very important, and the famous quote from Coco Chanel -

“A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future.”

just shows how important perfume can be.
When you walk into an interview, yes the interviewer will look at your and your appearance can mean a lot. However, recently in an interview I was wearing Prada Candy, and the woman interviewing me asked what perfume I was wearing and it became a real talking point.

Prada Candy is the most gorgeous perfume ever. It has a really sweet smell and will bring you plenty of compliments.
Although it may be a bit pricey and cost more than other perfumes, see it as an investment into a new job.
I'm sure I'll get bored of Prada Candy someday so let me know of any other perfumes you think are worth trying.

Absolute steal.

Yes, I know what you're thinking. This looks like the Topshop pale pink studded bag, but it's not. I went shopping today with my best friend and we came across this bag in Primark! It is practically identical to the Topshop one, however is a staggering £32 cheaper! The only downside is that this one doesn't have a strap, but at £6, who cares!
If you are the same as me and love studs, just go and get this from Primark! It is absolutely amazing and at such a cheap price, you would be stupid not to!

These are the bags next to each other. The pink one is obviously Primark and the black, Topshop. They are pretty much the same bag. There are only a few differences. Firstly, there are more studs on the black Topshop one. The Topshop one is made out of much better quality fabrics - real leather on the black and real suede on the front. And finally, the Topshop one comes with a long shoulder strap, whereas the Primark one doesn't. I would recommend using the black one in the day time with casual wear, and using the pink one as a clutch at night.

I am absolutely desperate to find a turquoise studded bag to match my Marc by Marc Jacobs loafers. Please comment if you know anywhere that does one!
