Onesies - Trend or Fad?

The influence of Joey Essex on TOWIE and other celebrities embracing the onesies, has caused them to be the essential Winter loungewear for three years running. From Primark's affordable £12 onesies to the extortionate 'onepiece', everyone either has one or wants one. I admit I am a sucker for onesies and have two of my own. However, they are practical in England as not only can you wear them in Winter, they can be pretty much worn all year round due to our non-existant seasons.

But I can't help but wonder why an oversized baggy sleepsuit would have such an impact on our British high street. Not only are teenagers wearing them, retailers such as Next are now bringing out 'onesies', which makes me think that the target market is getting bigger every year.

Although they are irresistibly comfy and cosy on a cold Winter's night, I just don't understand how wearing a large babygrow has become such a trend. Will it be a trend that will eventually become a fad, or will it continue to become more popular year on year?

(I am such a hypocrite, sat in my onesie whilst typing this!)
If you have a onesie, where did you get it from and how much did you pay?

Shopping trip ...

I went to Liverpool with my best friend and she managed to walk away with £20 worth, whereas my bank account had taken a serious beating. Liverpool One is the shopping centre in the center of Liverpool and it has high street and premium retailers such as Mango, Zara, Pandora, Lipsy, John Lewis, Urban Outfitters and many many stores. It is impossible to leave Liverpool One without your plastic friend being forced into chip and pin machines left right and center.

I went into Zara to find the £80 jacket I had wanted for so long. I know its a lot for a jacket but its a classic staple for my wardrobe. I loved the jacket so much (and me being so indecisive) I walked out of Zara with two. One red and one white. Both jackets have gold buttons and are absolutely stunning. They fit perfectly, even though Zara sizing is just bizarre and they look so elegant and Chanel-like.

I have a slight addiction to shopping. I spend every penny I have on clothes. If you are like me and just cannot help purchasing everything you see, comment and tell me what you have recently purchased.

Printed dresses...

TOPSHOP
This is a dress from Topshop which costs £32. It is midi length and a tight fitting bodycon dress. This is one of my favourite dresses this season for the reason that it looks amazing on girls with curves. It accentuates your hips, whilst the print also distracts from areas you don't want to attract attention to. The long sleeves also cover any arm issues you want to hide, and the length is perfect there is no need for hosiery. This is a dress that you can wear from Summer through to Winter with just simply adding more layers.

RIVER ISLAND
This dogtooth dress is only £30 from River Island and is very flattering for almost every shape. For curvier hour glass figures it accentuates your shape, and for boyish figures, the panels create curves. This mini dress is bang on trend with dogtooth being a popular print this AW. River Island have also brought out the same dress with a longer midi length for people who want to cover their legs.

RIVER ISLAND
This is another River Island dress however a completely different print and style to the previous one. The dipped hem has been a huge trend this year and has trickled through from SS to AW. This print is also absolutely stunning. At £35 this is an amazing price. The print is large which can hide parts of your figure, and as this is a loose fitting dress, you can buy whichever size you want depending on how oversized you want it. If you're a boyish shape, simply adding jewellery will be enough to complete the outfit, however for a curvier shape it would look better adding a belt so that you're curves and figure aren't swamped by the bagginess of the dress.

If you have a dress similar to these, comment and tell me how you have styled it!
